On Tuesday, February 13, six-time Emmy Award winning filmmaker, Karyl Evans, will be joining us for the screening of her 35 minute documentary film, The Life and Times of Beatrix Farrand. To research this film, Karyl spent three years visiting over 50 related gardens from Maine to California and speaking with curators, gardeners and educators. The documentary captures the fifty year career of a woman in landscape architecture, a field primarily dominated by men.
Ms. Evans holds an M.A. in film-making from San Diego State University and a B.S. from the University of Kentucky in Horticulture, with an emphasis on landscape architecture. She is a Fellow at Yale University and on the national speakers bureau list of the Gardens Clubs of America.
Refreshments are served at 12:00 noon. The guest fee is $5.00.
