Barrington Garden Club's New Program Year

Barrington Garden Club's program year has started in person at the Barrington Public Library. On September 21, the first program, "Soil Health and Compost", was presented by Jayne Merner Senecal, the owner of Earth Care Farm in Charlestown, RI. She focused on her experience, personal story and the importance of composting and healthy soil. The program began with a video of the beginnings of Earth Care Farm which was started by her father, Michael Merner, in 1977, and now, as the largest composter in Rhode Island, produces on a large scale, high quality Merner's Gold Compost.

On Tuesday, October 19, Marc Domina, owner of Domina's Agway in Portsmouth, will present "Pond Ecology and Exotic Aquatic Plants". Marc will take us to a place with the sound of falling water and brightly colored fish swimming surrounded by tropical plants. He is a Certified Master Aquascape Contractor with a degree in Horticulture/Ornamental and Turf Management

Join us at 12:00 noon in the Salem Family Auditorium, upstairs in the Barrington Public Library, for a social time until 12:30 pm when there will be a short business meeting followed by the program. Masks are required.
